ABOUT
Who runs Columbus Water Damage Guide
Independent notes for homeowners in Columbus and nearby Franklin County. Practical information about wet basements and leaks, not a substitute for a crew or a plumber on site.
Who writes it
Mike M — Editor
Mike M writes practical home-service guides for homeowners. These pages explain common problems and what to ask a licensed pro; they are not a substitute for on-site diagnosis.
How we write these guides
- Basements, sump pumps, and freeze-thaw notes are general guidance for central Ohio. We do not invent rainfall totals, contractor scores, or prices.
- We do not tell you to enter standing basement water or to repair a gas appliance.
- We do not publish reviews.
- If a page is wrong, tell us and we will correct it.
How the site is paid for
Some pages show a phone number. Calls to it are routed by CallScaler to independent water-damage restoration companies that pay for those calls, and part of that payment comes to this site. That is how we cover our costs. The companies are not part of this site: we don’t choose which one answers, and we don’t warrant or supervise their work. Guides are written the same way whether or not a page shows the number. There is no other advertising, affiliate linking or sponsored content.
What we are not
We are not a restoration company, a plumber, or an insurer. If the basement is full of sewage, a wall is failing, or someone is hurt, keep clear and call for help.
